Merry Christmas!

Christmas was here and gone, our Xmas this year was full of parties.

To start it off was the Xmas celebrations in Sheneice's school on the 22/12/06 where the children were requested to wear their party dress for the celebrations.

Our Strawberry Fairy (a present from Small Gugu)

Apparently, she was the only one who wore a party dress on that day while the rest were in their civilians. Naturally, she became the centre of attraction.

Later in the evening, we went to 2nd Gugu's house for more party. It has been a tradition that we celebrated Xmas at 2nd Gugu's house, this year was no exception. As usual, we were stuffed with alot of food prepared by the very warm 2nd Gugu.

Us with all the presents and the very big Xmas tree

It was also "Dong Chi" on the 22nd so Na na brought a packet of flour and got all the girls involved in making "tang yuan". Daddy and I had a taste of the "tang yuan" which Sheneice made, simply delicious!!! :D

Sheneice had so much fun in 2nd Gugu's house where it is always filled with lots of toys. Amongst the toys, we found this! Sheneice, the little red reindeer :D
This year, the Santa Claus was Small Gugu. Sheneice was rather scare initially to see the Santa Claus walking out of the room but was slowly warmed up and also understand that it was only Small Gugu.

After a round of phototaking with the Santa Claus, it was the time where the girls had been waiting for.

The girls were waiting so patiently and orderly for Santa Claus to give out the presents.

Kakak had a very happy time too. :D

We took alot of photos

Last but not least, a family photo on Xmas 2006

There were parties on the 23rd, 24th and 26th but for all parties, Mummy forgot to bring the camera to capture the moments. Sigh, I had to admit that I'm getting old...

Sentosa

Yiyi booked a room in Rasa Sentosa last Saturday. Daddy had to work so Kakak and I brought her for a swim in Rasa Sentosa instead.

Sheneice already all prepared for the swim (that's her "victory" sign :D)

We went straight to the pool after we put our things down in the hotel room

There was 2 slides at the pool and my courageous Sheneice tried both the slides once. However as she is too light, she started to spin round and round on the slides. So after having tried once per slide, I did not let her continue with it.

After Daddy finished his work, he came to join us at Sentosa for dinner. Yiyi and Yizhang had intended to go the Merlions but Daddy's shoe gave way out of a sudden, so we decided not to move too much and went to the Underwater World instead.

At the touchpool. When we passed the Starfish to her, we thought she would not dare to hold it like our last visit to the Underwater World. Unexpectedly, she just took the Starfish without second thought.

After the Underwater World, we went to the Musical Fountain for the last show of the day. Kakak was so overwhelmed by the Musical Fountain, she said she had never see water dancing in her life. On hearing that, I took a few more photos for her as a keepsake.

A Saturday Outing

Daddy read from the newspapers that there will be photo taking sessions with Barney and Friends at PS on the weekends. While I heard that the movie "Happy Feet" is about singing and dancing. Knowing that Sheneice loves Barney and she also loves to sing and dance, we decided to spend the day in PS.

When we reached PS, we realised that the characters from the movie "Open Seasons" will be taking the photos instead of Barney. Since we were already there, I though it does not matter which character we will be taking our picture with.

After the photo taking session, there will be an Arts and Crafts session for the children too. While waiting, we took photos again.

As we are ahead of time, we spent some time shopping before we watched our movie. This is Sheneice's 1st movie in a cinema, we are proud that she managed to sit through 4/5 of the movie and only started to get rather impatient towards the end. Luckily we bought some titbits to keep her distracted till the end of the show. The movie was good, till today, we are still tapping our feet aways like Mumble (the dancing penguin) in the show.

Thereafter, we went to MS for dinner. We were lucky enough to be on time for the "Little Robots" show which was showing in MS.

After the show, we went to Giants to do some grocery shopping while Daddy and Sheneice did their Xmas shopping.

So many events in a day, it was time to hit the sack as we were all starting to feel tired.

Sheneice goes to School

As Sheneice is our only child, we feel that it would be a good for her to go to school to mingle around and learn to be sociable.

Her first day of school - 7th November 2006

Suddenly we feel that our baby is so grown up.

As Sheneice has never joined any classes before and this is the first time she attends a class, we decided to start her slow at 3 times a week for half a day. Daddy and I took leave for the 1st three days thinking that she might not be able to adapt to the new environment. But our baby fits into the class and the new environment so well that she did not even realise our non-existence when we sneaked away.

She was already doing "grocery shopping" with a Jie Jie shortly after we reached school

We made intermittent checks on her to see that she's ok, we were happy to see that she was enjoying herself so much.

2nd week of School

However, her enthusiasm to go to school was short-lived. She began to realised that we will be leaving her the moment she reached school. She had no problems in getting changed and going to school, it's the part when we leave where there will always be a struggle. It was not easy to see her crying so bitterly but we had to press on.

Sheneice looking smart in her uniform on her 2nd week of school

Starting December, she had gone on a 4 days a week basis. The school will be phasing out the flexi-care scheme starting January 2007, by then Sheneice will attends classes for half day on a daily basis.

So far, she is already in her 7th week of school. She no longer crys when we leave, I guess she had already understand the routine. But she will need to hang on to someone like a koala bear for comfort and security when we leave. To us, it's a big relief. At the very least, every morning would not be a struggle for Sheneice and us.

Friends of the Zoo

Sheneice is a animal lover and she will request that we bring her to the Zoo every now and then. When we went to the Zoo again in September (I know I took a little too long to blog), we signed up as members and are now "Friends of the Zoo".

A new added feature, the Rainforest

Sheneice's never-changing flamingo pose

Just have to upload this one, so cute

This time round, we concentrated at the Children's Land. We played at the water area and after shower, we continued playing at the playground.

Sheneice made a new friend at the playground

This little girl is only a few days older than Sheneice and she was exploring the playground quite independantly. It dawned to us that it's also time for Sheneice to be more independant but I guessed being the Asian parents (or maybe just us lah), we still guided her along. The only time we let go is when she played the slide. (so much about independence, :D)

After that, we took the train in the Children's Land and alighted at the Children's Farm. Sheneice touched the horse for the 1st time but Mummy was too slow to capture it and she refused to touch it again.

Sheneice was showing signs of tiredness shortly after so we decided to go home for her to rest. But before we leave, we went to get some drinks in KFC. Took this when I was in the queue.

So cheeky... Should change my blogname to cheekysheneice

Since we're now "Friends of the Zoo", guess this will be our favourite haunt now.
