Bangkok Trip - Day 6 and Day 7

6th day in Bangkok - Our 1st stop will be the Floating Market. It was a long journey to the Floating Market, everybody can even take a nap on the coach.

We really didn't expect the Floating Market to be this busy, it is really a very interesting place. To the Thais, we're probably the most "suaku" people. We were so fascinated with the amount of boats we saw, how they prepare the food and the way they trade. There are boats of hawkers selling pork, drinks, foods, desserts and of course, souveniers.

After leaving the Floating Market, the tour guide probably want to earn quick bucks from us. She brought us to a Snake farm which was not in the itinery. Upon reaching, we realised that there's a snake performance. As such, Gu zhang brought Cousin Claire and Cousin Cleo to the show. We did not go for the performance because Mummy was getting all the goose pimples when she saw the snakes.

While waiting for the performance to end, we went to explore the farm. There's a small resort at the back of the farm. Sheneice and Mummy had a great time playing while waiting at the lobby.

Next will be the elephant show. As we have spent some time in the snake farm, lunch was a rush one as the elephant show was starting. We still missed the first 10 mins of the show but it was very entertaining. When the show ends, we can feed and ride on the elephants.

Initially we thought Sheneice will be afraid of the height so we didn't go for the elephant ride. But when Gugu and Cousin Cleo ride past us, Sheneice want to join them on the ride. Of course, we obliged her. My fearless Sheneice.

As we have spent quite some time with the elephant, we only catched the last 10 mins of the crocodile show. It was probably interesting, but we reached there, we only saw the man carrying the crocodile, that's all.

After which, it was a long journey back to Bangkok.

Last day in Bangkok - rest and relax.

We do not have to wake up so early on the last day but probably the time clock in our body had already set. Everybody still woke up early cos we do not want to waste the last day.

We went back to MBK for breakfast and some last min shopping.

Sheneice on the MRT back to our apartment after shopping at MBK.

When we alight the MRT, we saw some demonstration opposite our apartment. Daddy even go and take some photos of the demonstration.

At Bangkok airport after checking in our luggage

Bye Bangkok!

On the plane, Sheneice keep disturbing Tua Pey

At about 2315 hours on 16th March 2006, we arrived in Changi Airport.

That's nowhere better than home.

Bangkok Trip - Day 4 and Day 5

Day 4 - Shopping day.

Our 1st stop was the new Shopping Centre of Bangkok - Siam Paragon. It is so nice and grand, there's even a doorman to open the door for us.

Notice that the father and daughter are wearing a similar T-shirt? Sheneice's was a gift from Small Gugu when she went to Switzerland for holiday whereas Daddy purposely bought one similar one to match Sheneice when we were shopping in Chatuchak market the day before.

A clearer picture of the father and daughter's matching T-shirt

With Sheneice, we will definitely be stucked at the the Children's Department.

There's a mini playground at the Children's Department, how can we miss that.

2nd stop will be the "must-go" MBK. We walked to MBK as it was only a walking distance from Siam Paragon. As we were walking, we saw something that we really must take a photo:-

We did not take any photos in MBK as it was so super crowded! Only when we left MBK then we took a few with the MBK sign.

We took the MRT back to our apartment, while in the MRT, we had pole dancers to entertain us.

We booked a 2 days tour to the Safari World, Floating Market and to see the Elephant and Crocodile Show. We'll be going to the Safari World first.

****

Day 5 - To the Safari World

The tour agency had arranged for a coach and a tour guide to bring us to the Safari World. Sheneice can really get along very well with her 2 cousins, or rather, her 2 cousins really dote on her. When we were on our way to the Safari World, Cousin Cleo helped us to entertain Sheneice. It's just so sweet to see them so close to each other. Alot of times, it's actually the 2 cousins giving in to her as she's now the youngest in the family.

We were too early and it was not open yet. While waiting, we took alot of photos.

When it was opened, we boarded a bus and it brought us for a tour to the wild side of the park. These are some of the animals we saw:-

We were lucky to be on time for the feeding of the lions and tigers.

We took a photo with the "giraffe" and the baby tiger after we have alighted the wild tour bus.

After that, it's showtime.

The sea lion show

The cowboy show. We didn't finish the cowboy show as the bombing and firing had frightened Sheneice.

Before we continue with the rest of the other shows, we must re-charge first. The tour package also included a buffet lunch.

More hugs and kisses from the Trio

After lunch, to the Dolphin and Whale show.

Sheneice fell asleep while watching the dolphin show so we didn't continue the "show chasing". We went to search for a windy place for Sheneice to nap.

When Sheneice woke up, it's already towards the end of the Safari World Tour. Alot of other shows we didn't manage to catch but it's alright, Daddy and Mummy will bring you back.

We took a few more photos before we went to meet up with the rest. There's a funny fountain that got her laughing.

And a few more at the exit before we board our coach

On our way back, in the coach, Cousin Claire sat together with us.

We were all sticky and hot. Went back for a shower before we went for our dinner.

Dinner was the huge lobster noodle again! Yummy!

We're so close to these girls. Wonder if they will still hug us when they grow up.

We're going to the Floating Market and the elephant show tomorrow! Yeah! Sheneice love Elephant!

Bankgkok Trip - Day 3 and Daddy's Birthday

Third day in Bangkok and we're going to brave the Chatuchak weekend market.

Our day started early and we had our breakfast at another cafe along the street where our apartment stands. Sheneice had no problem in waking up early as she usually wakes up at 7.30 am. With Sheneice, meals at the street hawkers are out of the question, it will be either at a cafe or a restaurant.

The sunglass belongs to Cousin Cleo but once Sheneice set her hands on it, there goes Cousin Cleo's sunglass. We took a long time to persuade her to return it to Cousin Cleo.

After breakfast, we set off for the Chatuchak market. Nam and I had been there before we have Sheneice, we managed to cover the whole market in one day. This time, with all the children, I think we only covered 1/5 of the market.

The Thais are generally nice people, one of the shop owner saw that we were feeding Sheneice
while we walked. She actually allowed us to rest in her store while Sheneice had her lunch.

We were supposed to meet Tua Pey at 6 pm at the MRT station, but by 3 pm, we were already so tired that we decided to go back to the apartment to rest. Since we're in Bangkok, we must let the children experience the tuk tuk ride.

These 3 girls just can't get enough of each other

12/03/06 - Daddy's 32nd Birthday.

After freshen up, we spent some quality time as a family.

Thereafter, we celebrated Daddy's birthday in a seafood restaurant with everybody.

HAPPY 32ND BIRTHDAY!!! SWEET DADDY!

Bangkok Trip - Day 1 and 2

Should have posted on our Bangkok Trip earlier but I was having problems in uploading my photos, thus the delay.

****

We left for Bangkok with Daddy's side of the family on 10/03/06. We've squeezed all of our stuff into a luggage and deposited the slow cooker in Granny's luggage as we predicted that it will not be just a luggage back. :P

Taken at the Changi Airport while waiting to board the plane

I was paranoid over the ear pressure that Sheneice will experience. As advised by the pd, we let Sheneice suckle on her milk bottle in order to equalise the pressure. We filled her bottle with mango juice to get her interested in suckling. Thankfully, Sheneice had no problem with the taking off and was soon fast asleep. She woke up just in time before the landing and again, we let her suckle on the bottle and had a smooth landing.

We arrived at the Bangkok Airport 15 mins earlier than the scheduled time.

We stayed at a serviced apartment named "The Regent Silom" situated at Silom. A very convenient place, the BTS (MRT) is just downstairs, Patpong is just a street away and the pasar malam at the foot of our apartment stretches all the way to Patpong.

Our apartment for our 7 days stay in Bangkok

After we have settled our luggage in the apartment, we went to a shopping centre just opposite our apartment for dinner.

Our 1st meal after we reached Bangkok and it got us hunger for more, especially the huge bowl of lobster noodle. Simply delicious... A slogan has to be shouted by the servers while they serve the lobster noodle to our table. We all had a shock when we first heard them shout, we thought a fight had started. :p

After dinner, we brought Sheneice back to the apartment to rest as it's going to be a long day tomorrow.

****

We had breakfast at this cafe with a cute name "Bees and Bugs", that explains the bee behind Sheneice.

Sheneice had a hearty breakfast with Cousin Cleo

Off we go! First, we went to pay respect to the famous 4-faced Buddha.

Taken at the 4-faced Buddha Temple

We were defeated by the heat of Bangkok. So warm!!! We spent the rest of the day at a nearby shopping centre, our objective was simple - the AIR-CON! With the air-con, Sheneice can have a good nap while the rest continued shopping.

We met up at the exit of the shopping centre and Tua Pey brought all of us to a beauty salon for a beauty boost.

Taken outside the beauty salon. Daddy said must take photos of the building behind as they resemble the streets and buildings of Singapore in the olden days. We can show these photos to Sheneice when she's older, if not she won't be able to know how Singapore looked like.

After the rejuvenation, we "ta pao" our dinner back to the apartment, had a rest before settling Sheneice for her bedtime.

More to come...

Cousin Claire's Birthday

Today is Cousin Claire's 11th birthday. The birthday party was held in the function room of Small Gugu's condo.

While Cousin Claire was playing games with her friends, Daddy and Mummy brought Sheneice for a swim. Mummy did not join Sheneice in the pool as Mummy was busy taking photos, here are some of the photos taken at the pool.

She just love to swim

Playing with the water features

There's a playground right beside the pool, therefore...

This girl have no fear for the water at all. She was walking in the pool without Daddy holding her hands, my brave girl.

When she finally fell into the water, she just stood up, rub her nose and continued walking.

As the weather was very good, we spent a whole 1 hour playing. After the swim, Sheneice was so hungry that she managed to finish 1 whole thermal container of porridge plus 1 small bowl of fried rice.

On a separate note, we are going to Bangkok this Friday! Yeah!!!! Counting down...
